Aptitude Testing
Over the past 80 years, various aptitudes have been isolated and
tests for them have been developed.
The tests are not in the form of Q and A but are exercises
designed to show how easy (or hard) the exercise is for us, thus
showing to what extent we have or lack a particular aptitude.
Unlike other assessments, real aptitude tests are based on
genuine worksamples (tasks to be performed), not on one’s
opinion of oneself or some other form of self-appraisal.
Some people have one especially strong aptitude, which they can
sense, and it moves them in a particular career direction with
relative ease.
Other people have a number of strong aptitudes, not just one or
two. This can create conflict as a person’s strong aptitudes
subconsciously beg to be used. Hence the more aptitudes you
have, the harder it can often be to come up with a satisfactory
career choice as you feel pulled in multiple directions.
However, once you know your aptitudes, you will find there are
career paths and life styles that can satisfy a number of
aptitudes.
Many people have strong aptitudes they are totally unaware of,
for the simple reason they’ve never had the opportunity to use
them.
